As guests step into the Haunted Mansion, they’re greeted by a chilling warning from the ghostly host: ‘There’s no turning back now.’ This summer, that phrase takes on a whole new meaning as couples can now exchange vows in the mansion’s courtyard, surrounded by the haunting charm that has made this attraction a fan favorite since 1969. The price tag for this spooky celebration ranges from $25,000 to $40,000, which includes the use of the courtyard but also requires Disney-provided entertainment—though what that entails (and how much extra it costs) remains a mystery. Korri McFann, marketing director for Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings and Honeymoons, explains, ‘Couples today are looking for a destination wedding venue with unique storytelling that reflects their passions. The Haunted Mansion has always been a fan favorite, and we’re thrilled to bring their dream wedding to life!’
However, there are some eerie restrictions. The event can host only up to 25 guests (excluding the couple), and ceremonies must take place before the park opens—a logistical challenge for early birds. For example, on July 1, the park opens at 8 a.m., leaving little time for a sunrise ceremony. Disneyland provides minimal lighting but includes an officiant, transportation, light decor, and photography. Here’s the real question: Is the Haunted Mansion’s charm worth the early hours and hefty price tag?
The mansion itself recently underwent a nearly year-long renovation, reopening in January 2025 with upgraded gardens and a new greenhouse for guests waiting in line. Even the infamous tortured bride—one of the mansion’s signature characters—got a modern update, now floating before guests with a physical three-pronged candelabra thanks to projector technology.
This hauntingly romantic opportunity is part of Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings and Honeymoons’ 35th-anniversary celebration, which includes ‘a series of surprise announcements’ throughout February. Previously, couples could wed at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel, the Disneyland Hotel ballroom, Fantasyland Faire Garden, or the lavish Sleeping Beauty’s Castle Forecourt (starting at a jaw-dropping $100,000).
