The South Sydney Rabbitohs have announced that Talanoa Penitani and Jonah Glover will miss considerable time due to injuries sustained in Saturday’s Charity Shield game against the Dragons.
Penitani, a 21-year-old centre, tore his right hamstring just after crossing for the opening try, leaving him sidelined for up to eight weeks. Glover, the promising young halfback, suffered a broken jaw during a brutal collision and is expected to undergo surgery the following evening, which will keep him out for up to eight weeks as well.
Both players are currently ruled out for roughly two months, a setback for the Rabbitohs as they navigate early-season form and team depth.
