Despite a slight increase in proficiency over the years, the numbers are still concerning. Roc the Future Alliance emphasizes the importance of trusted messengers, like parents, in spreading awareness about educational opportunities. The report also highlights the alarming low proficiency rates in eighth-grade math, with only 4.4% of students meeting the criteria in the 2023-2024 school year. However, there's hope on the horizon. The community is urged to take action, and external factors like extreme poverty and homelessness are being addressed to support student success. The full report, including insights from Mayor Malik Evans and Tulsa Deputy Mayor Krystal Reyes, will be released during the State of Our Children Address on February 26th, offering a platform for further discussion and action.
