Sal Stewart News: Debut at 2B
Stewart opened the spring game versus Cleveland at second base and went 0-for-1 with two walks on Saturday.
Stewart had entered camp as the leading candidate to be the club’s primary first baseman. The Cactus League opener, however, gave him a chance to test the keystone position. In the offseason, he slimmed down significantly—dropping 26 pounds—which now makes him a viable option at second base this year.
